FAQ
How do I play?
You're shown a color name. Use the color wheel to pick the color you think matches it, then tap Reveal to see how close you were. You score up to 100 points per round, with 5 rounds per puzzle — max 500 points.
How is the score calculated?
We use the CIE94 color difference method, which measures perceptual similarity between colors in a way that matches how humans see color differences. The closer your guess, the higher your score.
Who decides the color names?
Colors come from this open-source color name database . Don't take the names too seriously — some are delightfully strange.
How often does the puzzle change?
A new daily puzzle drops every day. Want unlimited practice? Try Infinite Mode.
What are the different game modes?
Daily — one puzzle per day, same for everyone.
Opposite — guess the opposite of the shown color.
Infinite — endless rounds, no waiting.
Who made this?
Kiru — I make small online projects. ColorGuesser started as a weekend experiment and somehow people kept playing it.
